Pottery Painting

Come enjoy a fun pottery painting session!

We recently opened a new location in the South Front District called The Cozy Bookwyrm! This location now has all of our pottery painting options. We largely carry functional pieces like mugs and plates, but we're looking to expand out options soon. No experience necessary! Come and enjoy a creative outing where you’ll make something cherished for years to come!

Here’s how it works:

  • Head over to our Cozy Bookwyrm shop at 1540 S 2nd St, Suite 220, Wilmington, NC 28401 no later than 2 hours before we close for the day (we share a unit with Yoga Salt and Cafe Mata) - this ensures you have plenty of time to paint :)
  • Grab some coffee or tea from Cafe Mata (if visiting during their open hours)
  • Select your pottery + glaze colors and get painting!
  • Once finished, wait approximately 1-2 week(s) for your pottery pieces to come out of their final kiln firing.

Additional Information:

Your creations will be ready for pickup from the studio approximately one-two weeks from the workshop date. You should receive a pickup email when they're finished, but if it is eaten by filters, please come by the studio two weeks after the class date check on your pots. Any pottery left at the studio three months after the workshop date will be donated, so please pick up your work in time!

YOU MUST SIGN YOUR POTTERY. Bookworm Pottery & Co. is not liable for lost pieces that are unsigned and mistakenly claimed by another student.

Not all pieces are guaranteed to make it out of the kiln if instructions are not followed. Improper glaze application can cause cracks or even shattering in the firing process. However, the goal is to just have fun, so don’t stress about it! If your piece breaks in the kiln, you will be given a makeup painting session.

Tickets cannot be refunded, prorated or exchanged for another workshop due to the special nature of our offerings and very limited enrollment.

If you are looking to book a private painting party, please see more information here.
