Pottery & Pilates: Paint Pots & Practice Pilates on the Beach! (WEDNESDAY, 4/8)

Come enjoy a class of mindful movement and creation!

Enjoy some mindful movement in this pilates class focusing on breath, posture, and gentle flow with our collab partner, Pilates with Ashley, followed by mindful making through painting your own small pottery dish on the beach with staff member Gabby from The Cozy Bookwyrm.

• Included: instruction, 1 premade dish, painting supplies, kiln firings
• Instructors: Ashley with Pilates with Ashley & Gabby with The Cozy Bookwyrm
• Who: Anyone aged 16 and older
• When: Wednesday, 4/8 (6pm-8pm)

• Cost: $45 per person

More Important Information:

• CLASS TYPE: This is a painting class (90 minutes) & Pilates class (30 minutes), NOT a wheel class. You will be painting a premade dish by hand, not on the pottery wheel.
• GLAZING: You will get to paint premade pottery. Your pottery will be dipped in clear and fired in the kiln after the session by staff.
• CARE: Ceramics should not be exposed to extreme temperature changes. Hand-wash or allow to cool to room temperature from the top rack of your dishwasher help prevent shattering. Avoid using boiling water. With care, your future little pots can bring you joy for a long while.
• TURNAROUND TIME: Pottery is a process and takes time to fire and make it through our process. Your creations will be ready for pickup from the Cargo District studio approximately 3 weeks from the workshop date. You should receive a pickup email when they're finished, but if it is eaten by filters, please come by the studio after 4 weeks to check on your pots or send us an email. Any pottery left at the studio 3 months after the workshop date will be donated, so please pick up your work in time!
• YOU MUST SIGN YOUR POTTERY. Bookworm Pottery & Co. is not liable for lost pieces that are unsigned and mistakenly claimed by another student.
• DISCLAIMER: Not all practice pieces are guaranteed to make it out of the kiln if instructions are not followed. Inconsistencies in glaze application can cause damages in the firing process. However, the goal of this workshop is to learn and have fun, not the finished practice piece, so don’t stress about it! If your pottery is damaged, we will offer you a discounted makeup painting session.
• REFUND POLICY: Tickets cannot be refunded, prorated or exchanged for another workshop due to the special nature of our offerings and very limited enrollment. If something comes up that impacts your attendance, you are welcome to resell your tickets.
• LIABILITY INFORMATION: By participating in Pilates classes with Ashley, I acknowledge and accept the inherent risks involved in physical activity, including but not limited to injury, muscle strain, or discomfort. I understand that I am responsible for my own safety and well-being during class. I confirm that I have disclosed any relevant medical conditions or physical limitations to the instructor. I also understand that it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional before starting any new exercise program, especially if I have pre-existing health issues. I release Ashley Rider, and Movement with Ashley and any affiliates from any liability for injury, loss, or damage that may occur during or as a result of participating in the class. I accept full responsibility for my participation and acknowledge that I do so at my own risk.
